About MD Kiosk

The information provided by MD Kiosk is written and edited by board-certified physicians from a variety of different specialties. The aim of the MD Kiosk TOUCHSCREEN, WEB and other products is to improve the quality of patient health education by offering a multimedia alternative to traditional brochures or handouts that are (sometimes) given in the clinical setting. Physicians write and review transcripts of the videos.

Medical videos are important and underutilized tools for patient education. Although they do not replace one-on-one doctor-patient communication, medical videos can improve understanding and awareness of the disease process amongst patients. Time-contrained health care providers need versatile tools to help them educate patients more effectively. Web-based videos provided by MD Kiosk can be used as an adjunct to brochures in the clinical setting. Text printouts are also available for use.

It is also estimated that 10 million Americans a day use the internet to search for health information. More diverse, multimedia tools are needed to meet this growing public need.
