Biographies

Cynthia Dennison Haines, M.D., is an assistant clinical professor at Saint Louis University's School of Medicine in the department of community and family medicine and is a prominent medical writer for Web MD. Cynthia Dennison Haines earned her Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and psychology from Saint Louis University. She went on to earn an MD with Distinction, as well as a Geriatric Scholar's Award, from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Her residency in family medicine was with Family Medicine of Saint Louis, after which she joined a St. John's Mercy affiliated private practice. Haines is an active staff physician at St. John's Mercy Medical Center as well as an assistant clinical professor at Saint Louis University's School of Medicine in the department of community and family medicine. She was honored with election to the National Register's Who's Who of Executives and Professionals in 2004.

Dr. Haines is the CEO of Haines Medical Communications, Inc., which is a full service medical communications and healthcare consulting firm. As President of HMC Inc, Dr. Haines creates and oversees the creation of healthcare content developed by a panel of specialty writers and consultants recruited and supervised by Dr. Haines; provides service as senior medical editor and/or managing editor; and consults on a variety of projects for several local, national and international companies. Haines also currently serves as Lead Consultant for OneMedPlace (a division of the HealthCare Investment Network), a NYC-based integrated medical communications company focused on emerging life science and healthcare companies and resources. Products include the Medical Technology Investment Digest, a quarterly publication, and the virtual city of onemedplace.com. She has been recently appointed the Managing editor of HealthDay/Physician’s Briefing and other clients of Haines Medical Communications include: Med-IQ, Associated Physicians Group, The HealthCentral Network, VeriMed Healthcare Network, and the WebMD Corporation, among others.

Professional positions and affiliations for Dr. Haines include: Secretary, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association-Saint Louis; Treasurer, Saint Louis Academy of Family Physicians; Member, National Association of Medical Communicators; Board Member, Saint Louis Academy of Family Physicians, Active Staff Physician, St. John’s Mercy Medical Center; Member, American Academy of Family Physicians, 1998-present.
