Facelift
2: Why is a facelift performed?
Why is this procedure performed?
As the skin ages it looses elasticity. The deep folds between the mouth and nose and the slack skin under the jaw are the normal effects of gravity and time. The facelift is done to give the face and neck a tighter, more youthful, more alert appearance. As with any cosmetic procedure it is important to have realistic expectations. The goals, limitations, and expectations of the procedure should be discussed openly and in detail with your surgeon. Facelifts are not permanent. The results will gradually fade away over the next 5 to 10 years due to the normal process of aging. Facelift is a cosmetic procedure and is not covered by insurance.
